Dry Brewing Blends & Dry Malts
Customer Advice
When selecting brewing additives keep in mind less glucose ie Dextrose is required than cane sugar as an additive. It is suggested 700g of Dextrose equals 1.0kg of cane sugar. With this in mind brewers often choose smaller quantities of dry additives to achieve a beer close to what the beer's creator intended. Often 500g of dry glucose blend is felt to be adequate to make a 23 litre wort when using a malt tin recipe.
Maltodextrin, Dextrose, and liquid Glucose are rated as Gluten free to the International Gluten Standard and better suited to malt syrup ferments than cane sugar. Dry malt powders and liquid malts contain Gluten and are not recommended for persons with gluten intolerance.
Please remember to stir your 1.0kg dry powders well before use to ensure they are thoroughly blended. Particulary if you are keeping a portion for another brew.
