Brewing Supplies Online is offering a 2.6kg food grade Carbon Dioxide gas cylinder for keg dispensing systems. Food grade CO2 is high purity gas with extra filtration undertaken to remove potential impurities which may occur during gas manufacture. Food grade CO2 gas is ideal for beer, pre-mix spirit kegs, or soft drink dispensing systems.
A 2.6kg CO2 cylinder will carbonate and dispense approximately five 18litre Cornelius kegs or approximately 260 standard drinks.
With a 2.6 kg food grade CO2 cylinder you can store it in your kegerator or keg fridge or near to it under certain conditions. It must be: strapped so it can not fall; be in a well ventilated area; away from people traffic; isolated from animals or persons untrained in the use of gas equipment; and kept at a temperature below 500C.
CO2 gas and has the potential to inflict burns or other injuries if high pressure gas comes into contact with skin or eyes. It may cause a coronary embolism if gas bubbles are forced into blood supply. It will cause asphyxiation if inhaled in above normal volumes.
The cylinders we offer are Australian Standards AS2030 approved. Each cylinder is deep drawn steel and then swaged to form the neck so it has no welds. It is fitted with a Residual Pressure Valve (RPV) in the tap assembly. It is then certified under AS2030.5 2009 so it has a ten year (10) test life.
Play it safe, make sure your cylinder is AS2030 approved. Non-Australian Standard cylinders are difficult to get refilled as they often have threads which don't match Australian regulators or gas equipment. Home brew stores will not fill cylinders which lack AS2030 certification stamping.
This gas cylinder uses the same thread as food grade BOC or Supagas CO2 cylinders. Compatible with food grade BOC, Micromatic, Harris, Andale, Mangrove Jack's, Keg King, KegLand, and Westway gas regulators .

NB. In Australia, gas cylinders must be tested when an inspection is due before refilling can legally occur. When due it must re-inspected and tested by an Australian Certified Test Centre. Each cylinder must be visually, hydrostatically, and ultrasonically tested. Testing may include cylinder valve assembly replacement and re-certification stamping.
In accordance with National Safety Standards CO2 cylinder storage must comply to the minimum safety standards for CO2 use in a domestic environment. When using larger volume cylinders indoors, a gas safety alarm and extraction system may be required.
Please note: Always ensure on each refill that RPV has been reinstalled by the person refilling your cylinder. A cylinder with the RPV missing and older than 5 years can not be refilled.
Gas Cylinders are high risk pressure vessels and as a result must be freighted as "Dangerous Goods". Volumetric Freight charges may be applied to each cylinder in addition to "Dangerous Goods" freight charges.
